Microstructures from a 2D spinodal decomposition simulation were characterized using Minkowski functionals as morphological indicators. Three free parameters (interaction energies 𝑒𝐴𝐴 and 𝑒𝐴𝐵 , as well as the starting concentration 𝑐0) were sampled across a wide value range and their relationship to changes in the microstructure characteristics studied. This relationship was found to be continuous for all parameter configurations. This makes spinodal decomposition paired with Minkowski functionals a promising candidate for algorithmically identifying ideal material parameters to achieve desired characteristics.
